Meet The Team

Clare Scudds, Counsellor

I’m Clare Scudds, a Counsellor at Restoring Hope Therapies. I work with young people, adults, and couples, and have been practising since 2008. My background as a youth worker led me to train as a counsellor, and I have experience supporting clients through a wide range of emotional and relational challenges.

I have a particular passion for helping people with low self-esteem, confidence issues, and difficulties in close relationships. I often support clients with communication, assertiveness, boundaries, anxiety, shame, attachment styles, and unhelpful thoughts or behaviours.

As an integrative counsellor, I tailor my approach to each client, drawing from a range of models to meet individual or couple needs. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where we work together towards your goals.

Sessions are mainly talking-based, with the option of using creative tools such as therapy cards or metaphor if helpful. I also offer the integration of faith, spirituality, or religion for those who would like to explore this, and I have additional training in this area.

I’m a committed Christian and an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, as well as a member of the Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions. Clients often tell me they feel safe and accepted in our work together, something I believe is at the heart of meaningful therapy.
